54 selected women entrepreneurs were presented with a new income activity to grow Aloe Vera in their home gardens as an additional income source. The project expects to grow 20,000 Aloe Vera plants and ultimately expand itself to all women in the area. The local residents have signed a forward contract to supply the harvest at an agreed price. The project is planning to introduce technology to create a cottage industry where these rural women will be able to add value to the product they produce. Aloe Vera is and continues to be one of the wonder plants in the wellness and beauty industry. The project was facilitated and funded by Mosvold- Martinus Foundation with the financial help of SEE- Norway.
